Ramon Ngwete is a photographer born in 1992 and raised in the village of Saramaka, in Kourou, French Guiana. Through his work, Ramon Ngwete makes us travel through an intimate identity quest. He mixes soft and mysterious, between two times, he takes us « home » and then « elsewhere ». He often photographs Guyanese youth: the dark portraits express their living intensity with a background of pictures echoing the world of their origins. He was part of the production team of the Guyane TV show season 2 as an assistant director, and a photographer for the newspaper France-Guyane. His work is presented in the collective exhibition “Echo-Natures: Cannibal Desire” on view from March 13-April 17, 2019 at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami.
